Family Support Partner
Hello Tiger Families!
My name is Ginny Ursprung, and I am so excited to be joining the Shadow Lake community, as the Family
Support Partner. My family has lived in Maple Valley for over ten years. We moved here from Chicago where my husband and I were born and raised. Maple Valley is where we have become a family, and we are proud to call it our home. We have two children at Lake Wilderness Elementary and are active in many community sports in the area. I am looking forward to helping you and your students in any way I can.
The Family Support Partner (FSP) is available to:
- Introduce and facilitate access to school and district resources. (Examples of resources are the public library, our food bank, local medical facilities, sports programs, arts programs, district special programs and services, and district personnel.)
- Build partnerships in supporting student learning.
- Strengthen communication with families who cannot easily access district and school messages.
To help meet these needs, Tahoma’s Equity leadership started the Family Support Partner (FSP) program. FSPs are parent volunteers at every district school, including two at Tahoma High School, who work with school counselors and registrars to connect families to school and community resources. A core principle of the program is that FSPs maintain confidentiality of students, families, and providers who they collaborate with.
Please feel free to contact me via email with any questions or for support.
